Sana Bashir Khattak completed a master's in strategic studies at Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad and worked as a research associate at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad before joining in 2024. Her work examines how cross-border cooperation mechanisms — information-sharing arrangements, joint commissions, confidence-building measures — function under conditions of limited trust.
She contributes to the Institute's comparative study of regional-security architectures, briefs government analysts on cooperation models drawn from other regions, and reviews draft chapters for the security programme.
