Wei-Lin Chao

Wei-Lin Chao trained in industrial economics at National Taiwan University and spent five years as a sector analyst at the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research in Taipei, running diligence on manufacturing supply chains for institutional investors, before joining the Institute in 2023. Her work documents how component sourcing and logistics costs decide competitive position within, rather than across, manufacturing sub-sectors.

She now leads sector-report production for the markets programme, coordinating fieldwork with regional trade associations and customs-data providers, and reviews the competitive-intelligence briefs commissioned through the Institute's market-research service.
